Frank Sinatra at the Grand Ole Opry.
Nashville, Tennessee, May 10, 1976.

The “Grand Ole Opry” is the oldest radio show in the United States, and certainly in the entire world. Dedicated to honoring country music and its history, it has been broadcast continuously since November 28, 1925. It is characterized by broadcasting live performances from different concert halls, particularly the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, in the US state of Tennessee. From 1974 to the present it has been recorded from the Grand Opry House, in the same city. Throughout its history, giants such as Roy Acuff, Eddy Arnold, The Carter Family, Johnny Cash, George Jones, The Louvin Brothers, Loretta Lynn, Bill Monroe, Willie Nelson, Minnie Pearl, Jim Reeves have graced its stage. , Hank snow, Ernest Tubb and Hank Williams.
The program has also been distinguished by its conservative nature; The anecdote that best illustrates this fact took place in October 1954, when Elvis Presley in full artistic bloom had his first and last performance on the program since his revolutionary rockabilly sound did not please the organizers of the show.
Why does an organization as closed as the Opry provide its stage to Frank Sinatra? I have not found much information about the concert beyond its mention in some database and a press review from the time that I note in an image. It certainly wasn’t because of his Western movies 🤣; Perhaps those responsible for the program simply understood that they should not miss the opportunity to have the most important living legend of popular music of the century.
The event took place on May 10, 1976 and Frank offered a nice concert with his usual repertoire at that time, which is collected with good sound quality in a bootleg recording that allows you to enjoy and treasure a small but substantial chapter in the career of the Voice.
